There are some precautions elderly people should take note of before using spas Dream Makers. The main factor to be aware of is that elderly people (aged 65 and over) are more prone to overheating than a younger person. This is for a couple reasons:
-
They do not adjust as well as younger people to sudden changes in temperature in Beachcomber spas
- They are more likely to have a chronic medical condition that would change the way their bodies would normally react to heat in spas Dream Makers
- They are more likely to be on prescription drugs that will intensify in the Beachcomber spas hot water
Just like drinking alcohol in spas Dream Makers is dangerous (since it amplifies the effects of the alcohol); prescription drugs are also very dangerous when it comes to using Island Escape and Beachcomber spas. It will intensify the effects of the medication, therefore putting the person at risk of fainting or becoming unconscious. In turn, it is possible that they could drown if no help is around.
Also make sure the water level in the spas Dream Makers is at a safe height if an elderly person is going to be using the Island Escape or Beachcomber spas. Make sure it's not too deep where an accident could happen if they were to slip and hurt themselves. It should be at a height where they can comfortably sit in the spas Dream Makers with their heads significantly out of the water.
Make sure there is easy enough access for the elderly persons to enter and exit the Island Escape or Beachcomber spas. For example, maybe there are too many steps for them to get into the spas Dream Makers. You want them to be able to easily get into the Island Escape or Beachcomber spas to enjoy it, but you want them to also easily get out of the tub if some emergency was to happen. You don't want anything along the Island Escape or Beachcomber spas path that could make them trip or slip on their way to the spas Dream Makers or on the way out.
Also, a helpful spas Dream Makers accessory you could add if elderly people will be using it is the Beachcomber spas cover lifter. The cover is still one of the most important features of the spas Dream Makers since it keeps debris out of the water and protects the Island Escape and Beachcomber spas shell from sun damage. However, the cover can be considered heavy to some people. When you first purchase the cover, it will weigh around 20 to 30 pounds. But over time there is water accumulation into the cover's core and it can make the cover weigh up to as much as 100 pounds! Just because it is heavy doesn't mean that you shouldn't still put the cover on your spas Dream Makers. This is why the cover lifter would help out so much because it makes it much easier to lift the heavy cover. You can attach it on the side, top or bottom of your Island Escape or Beachcomber spas, which ever you prefer. The cover lifter also prevents you from accidentally scratching or damaging the heavy cover while trying to put it back on the hot tub. This could be one of the most useful tools to an elderly hot tub owner. |
